For all car models
1. "The inertial switch, which cuts off the fuel supply to the engine in the event of a vehicle collision, provides a simple and convenient means of relieving pressure before starting work on the injection system. If the body of your car type "sedan", open the trunk lid - under it is an inertial switch (see picture). If it's not there, open the driver's side door and look for it on the door hinge bracket above the left wheel cover. If the body type "wagon'', the switch is located on the lower rear corner post of the amplifier.
2.16. In a number of body types "sedan" the inertial switch is located on a hinged support above the left wheel casing - in station wagons it is located on the power rack in the lower left corner.
1. Reinforcement stand in the lower left corner.

3. Inertial switch.

8. The inner part of the casing of the left wheel.
9. Station wagon.
2. Locate two nuts with an electrical wire running between them. Unscrew them both and pull out the inertia switch of the fuel system.
3. There are two ways to open the fuel pump electrical circuit. Either pull out the electrical connector of the inertial switch or shake the switch vigorously (by tapping on the bottom of the trunk, you can open the circuit).
4. Start the engine, let it run until it runs out of fuel.
5. Now the pressure in the fuel system has dropped. When finished working with it, simply insert the connector back into the switch, or if you knocked on it to open the circuit, bring it to working condition by pressing the square button.
6. Replace the inertia switch and securely tighten the two fixing nuts.
Only for vehicles with EFI system
7. Fuel pressure can be relieved through the Schrader valve installed on the fuel line, but this requires a Ford fuel pressure sensor T80L - 9974 - B (or similar) and adapter T85L - 9974 - A.
Warning: Do not attempt to work on the Schrader valve. Without pre-installation of the sensor, a jet of fuel under high pressure can break out.
Warning: there will always be some residual pressure and fuel leaks in the system. It can be reduced by removing the gas tank cap. Have a rag and a small container on hand to collect fuel when disconnecting valves, connecting parts, etc.
