This part of Chapter 2 is about repair procedures for V-6 engines without removing them from the vehicle.
The intake and exhaust manifold, oil pan and cylinder head gaskets are accessible with the engine not removed. External engine parts - intake and exhaust manifolds, oil pan (and pump), water pump, starter, alternator, ignition distributor and fuel injection system - can be removed for repair without removing the engine itself. Since the cylinder head can be removed without touching the engine, the valves can also be serviced in the same position.
In the absence of equipment for removing the engine, without removing it, it is possible to repair and replace piston rings, pistons, connecting rods and connecting rod bearings.
