16. The battery does not hold a charge (reduced power)
1. There is a defect in the alternator drive belt or it is not adjusted (Chapter 1).
2. Low electrolyte level or low battery (chapter 5).
3. Battery terminals are loose or oxidized (chapter 5).
4. The generator does not give the required charge (chapter 5).
5. Loose, broken, not connected wires in the recharging unit (chapter 5).
6. Short circuit in car wiring (see chapter 12 and wiring diagrams).
7. Internal battery defects.
17. Ignition does not work
1. Faulty generator or recharging unit (chapter 5).
2. There is a defect in the alternator drive belt or it is not adjusted (Chapter 1).
18. When turning the key, the ignition does not work
1. The signal lamp of a combination of devices is faulty (chapter 12).
2. The generator is faulty.
3. Malfunctions in the instrument cluster printed circuit circuit, instrument panel wires or lamp socket (chapter 12).
