Warning: in these models of vehicles, the electric fan may operate with the ignition off. When working in the fan area, turn off its motor or disconnect the battery negative cable.
Note: The air filter element cannot be cleaned and must be replaced with a new one.
1. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube from the air cleaner housing cover.
2. Separate the 2 brackets of the air cleaner housing cover and remove the cover (see figure 11.1).
3. Remove the filter element. Remember that the folds of the paper element are directed downwards (see picture). The new one must be installed exactly the same, otherwise it will not work.
4. Clean the inner sealed area between the air cleaner body and cover.
5. Before installing a new air cleaner element, check for any deformed folds or holes in the paper. If it has the word TOR on it (top), be sure that this side is installed up. Paper folds should be at the bottom.
6. Install the cover on the body, make sure it fits snugly, fix the brackets.
7. Connect the piping and tighten the clamp securely.
